![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 501 The first route! There’s no turning back now. Route 501 is an excellent place to catch some more Pokémon or to just train your first friend. The area is grassy with a slight plain area, though, you’ll get in a good distancing walking along this route. Be sure to make wise decisions and not careless ones. It would be simply horrid if you lost the game when you’ve only now started out.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 502 (2 sub-boards) Congratulations! You’ve made it to Route 502; the second Route on your journey! If you thought that Route 501 was grassy, then wait till you get to this route. Route 502 is even grassier, yet, it is still a pleasant travel. You can ask Yuki the Rancher to lend you a Ponyta; but you must return it at the Arrow Station in the next town. This will make traveling a whole lot easier. Soon the grass becomes rock and you notice a cave up ahead. Dare you enter Branol Cave? There really isn’t much to this cave but it’s a decent place to catch a variety of Pokémon who would all be great additions to your team.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Town of Merilen (3 sub-boards) Here lays Merilen Town. One interesting thing about Merilen Town is that this is where you will have your first gym battle! Train hard, trainers! Reina, the gym leader, specializes in Water Pokémon, so make sure you have the right types to beat her! Another thing is that Merilen town is on a large cliff that sits high up. You can see miles out if you’re in the right spot. On a more scented note, this town is full of flowers! Flowers, flower shops, and flower Pokémon even! Merilen means "Rose Water" which fits considerably well seeing as the town is nestled next to the Merilen River.

Great, so let’s make our way down to the Coruith Cliffs. Now be careful, the road is hard and very unsafe. Wouldn’t want to fall down the entire way now would you? Whoa! Is that a river ahead? Why yes, it is! Though, in order to cross the swift moving river, you have to cross the bridge. So you make the four day long journey toward the bridge and are just about to cross, but what’s this?! The bridge is out?! How can that be! Oh, well, looks like you’ll have to find another way across. Why not take a look at that house near by? I bet Old Lady Nibiki would be willing to sell you a Water Pokémon, for a small fee of course.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Sael Village (2 sub-boards) Here lays the wondrous village of Sael. It's a peaceful place, where not many people reside. Though, at night, the stars are all so clear and beautiful they can bring tears to your eyes. The star everyone always looks for is the brightest star in the sky known as the Wise Star. After seeing the illuminating Wise Star, you can come pay a visit to the old folks, or stop at the PokéMart and stalk up a bit before hitting your next gym. Another place to visit is the Day Care where an old man and his wife graciously watch after your Pokémon and only for a small fee.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 504 (1 sub-board) Route 504 is mostly thick grassy and forest areas. Trekking through this area can be hard going due to the overgrown vegetation. Most Pokémon found in this area are bug, grass, and normal types. Several times, people have reported that they have seen the dog legendary, Suicune, around this area. Maybe you'll get a rare glimpse of this beautiful Pokémon!

You're making good progress on your journey. Abruptly, the thick grassy area gives way to a soft sand beach. Beyond that is a beautiful view of a blue green colored ocean. If you're brave and strong enough, you just might happen upon the secret ice cave that’s located somewhere on the beach. Not many trainers come upon this amazing place, but those who do always enjoy their time there.

This is simply a stunning and wondrous island filled with nice people who are always willing to help out. The beach is a great place to catch some sun and just take a small break to relax. Make sure you talk to the people who live around here. Some say that an ancient legendary Pokémon has been seen around here several times! If you're lucky, maybe you'll see it too!

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Merenellon City (5 sub-boards) Merenellon City, Just as the name implies. The City of Merenellon is a joyous friend to travelers. This large island is not too far off Route 506 - Halen Island. Take your ticket, and travel from Halen Island to here!
Peace is the key in Merenellon City, and everyone's nice; maybe perhaps too nice. In the meantime, come here to shop or heal your Pokémon. Go ahead and visit the old woman who waits to give you your present for visiting her city. It just might be what you’ve needed! Also make sure to hit the gym and don't miss the Pokémon contest going on in the Contestant’s Dome!

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 507 (1 sub-board) Route 507, congrats you've made it this far! Now it's time to get back on the main land once again. Here out on route 507 the air is clear and clean while the breeze is lazy and refreshing. Who doesn't enjoy that fresh, salty air on the beach? Rumors around Halen Island and Merenellon City told you there might be ruins near by, right? Ruins mean ancient places; perhaps some ancient Pokémon too? Venture out onto the beach and see if you can find the Istchurin Ruins. Who knows what you might find! Many have said there are strange Pokémon in there. Make note of how the land is going from beach to really plain like and desert like.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Culall Desert - Route 508 So I imagine the first thing you noticed when you exited the Istchurin Ruins was that… Route 508 is a desert! You must be very careful in this area. Sand storms are a major problem when crossing this area. To be caught in a sandstorm would be the worse thing possible for out here. If that happens to be the case, make sure to seek shelter. Littering the desert are many large, and small, rocks. Maybe one has been hollowed out, and if it has, you should use that to escape the sand. Also make sure you’ve stocked up on Fresh Water before coming through here. It would be awful to run out in the middle of the desert.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 509 (1 sub-board) So going through Route 508 was simple enough right? Well, this is where things will get hard. Once you reach the beginning of Route 509, it is obvious things are not going to be easy and fun. The land is mostly dense grass and heavily swampy areas. The air is very humid and it's easy to tire out here. Watch your step and keep a sharp eye for any quicksand. It would be horrible if you were to get caught in some.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Arathar Town (3 sub-boards) Wonderful! You've made it out of Route 509! Welcome to Arathar Town! Out of all the places here in Malaer, Arathar town is probably the most magical. The feeling in the air the second you reach the town is such a wondrous feeling that goes throughout your body. The place is a great forest area with abundant Pokémon all around. The trees all seem to sing with joy. All in all, this is a happy, fascinating place to be! Talk to some of the town’s people. You'll soon find out the reason this place feels so magical.

If you travel along, the trees seem to hum, the Pokémon seem welcoming. If you find a clearing, it would be a wonderful place to stop and have a picnic. Can you find the source of all this magic in the air?

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 511 On route to the next city for your next badge, you come across Route 511. Sadden to leave Route 510 and all it is wondrous treasures, you find yourself in a thick grassy area with a slightly swampy touch to it. This is a pretty normal place, though at night, you best watch out. At night, the Dark Pokémon come out and play.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Finrod City (3 sub-boards) Ah, Finrod City, probably one of the busiest cities in Malaer. People here take hardly any notice at all to new trainers, or strangers, for they all have their own business to attend to. Heck, half of the time, the residents of this town ignore other residents! Finrod is certainly known to get the jobs done no matter what they might be and to reach their goals by nearly any means. There are no Pokémon to catch here. Here would be an excellent place to heal Pokémon or to visit the PokéMart and stock up. After that, hit the gym! Goro and his Bug Pokémon will be waiting!

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 512 (1 sub-board) Wanting to explore more ruins? Well, it looks like you’re in luck! Up ahead you see yet another cave, yet this one feels different to you. Why is that? If you plan on going through the Cave of Éligil, you might want to go through at night. Why? Well, at night, when the milky moon light hits the gems and stones you find a glisten shimmer throughout the entire cave! This glowing light will help you navigate through Éligil and lead you out. Translated, the Cave of Éligil means the Cave of Silver Dagger Ruins for it is said that a mystical Pokémon lives here... Will you find it and find your way with it?
| 0 | 0 | |
![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 513 Great! You’ve made it out of the Cave of Éligil. Now you can make you way into the forest and grassy plain of Route 513. Though this Route is a lot like Route 501, you will notice there seem to be even more trees and it is just such a pleasant stroll to take. You’re glad to have come on this route. After all, you were able to stop for a picnic with your team and could take the time off to relax and enjoy yourselves. Maybe you were able to play a quick game of tag! Well, when the games begin to get old, it’s high time to move onto Route 514. Along the way, you’ll notice the grass soon becomes sad as the route fades into a beach scene.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 514 (1 sub-board) As you continue along, you notice that the grassy Route 513 has now become the oceanic Route 514. Now that’s a difference! Time to explore, though, after you’ve had your rest. Along this route, you’ll notice many dark patches of water. No doubt they are places you can use Dive on. When you come across the largest of the darker spots, you’ll want a Pokémon that knows Dive. Why not give it a go! You don't know what treasures you could possible find down there.

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Dínenaer Village (5 sub-boards) This village is nestled in on Dínenaer Village is nestled in on an island, on the side of a volcano where the terrain is very level. Far down below are crops that the villagers have grown since the ground is extremely fertile. Though the volcano has not erupted in many years, the Gym Leader, Shizune, still has his gym of Fire Pokémon very close to the top where she battles over pits of hot magma. The pits form when a hole in the volcano's side breaks, and a slow and steady drip of hot lava is kept hot from the Hot Springs. Only the best trainers battle her at the very top over the mouth of the volcano.

At first glace, Naurir Island isn't much of an eye pleaser. All it consists of is a dry, ashy plain. The reason for such dullness is that a long time ago, the volcano erupted and flattened the earth. What one sees now is the result of that. You won't really find anything here though you can work on your training.

Why, because it’s a coral reef! The Esgalen coral reef is home to thousands of Pokémon, most being Water! You'll have to swim or Surf this stretch of water, as boats are banned from sailing over the reef and for a great reason! Just be careful not to step on any Pokémon and to have a wonderful time! Good Luck on your crossing!

![[ ]](http://www.pokemonelite2000.com/sprites/dpicon/dpicon249.png) | Route 517 (1 sub-board) Traveling along, you soon come across a warm and sunny beach. The sand is so fine and soft while the gentle wavers rocking back and forth can lull even the most tormented soul into a state of relaxed calm. Now you’re almost complete with your journey. Looking up at the lager mountain that seems to nearly appear randomly out of thin air, you see that somewhere near the top there is a Plateau. Why would you be interested in that? Why, Heleg Plateau is the base for the Elite Four; the champions and master trainers of all of Malaer! Have you trained enough to challenge them all and become the champion yourself?! I bet you’re asking yourself how to get up there, right? Well, it’s simple, really… sort of. First you must travel deep into the mountain to find the Lift System’s owners house. After paying them, you are well on your way to the City of Thenineleg, which mind you, is in the very heart of the mountain!

Almost the highest point in the world, Thenineleg is short of reaching that point by only 52 kilometers! The people are not as harsh or as bitter as you might think; but instead, you will find out that they are actually very friendly people. Although this city is quite large and somewhat vast, yet remarkably stunning, the population is only around 2000 people. Now without further ado, the Final Gym awaits you! After that, it’s on to the Elite Four!

Mountainous Route 518 is basically an entire mountain and a cave. The trail leading around it goes up like a spiral staircase. Don't look down if you're afraid of heights! Once you are almost at the top, you notice that up ahead is an opening that leads into the mountain. Venturing on through, you find yourself in an ice cave! Can you navigate successfully through the cave to come out on top and get to Victory Road?

This road is like no other. With walls of crystal-like ice that shine like glass, hidden caves, slippery floors, dangerous Pokémon, and total darkness, most people never come out... Some are trapped forever in the cave of ice. There are no exits except two—the main entrance and the main exit. Nothing stands between you and the Elite Four but a block of ice. If you get lost, however, you might just find yourself in the center of the maze, where an old lady and her family live. If you are nice enough to them, they might let you rest here. After resting, it’s back to the journey!
